Before your dental appointment

A little preparation helps us understand your needs and make good use of your appointment. Here are the practical details to know before visiting ProDent in Nysa.

A conversation with a patient before dental treatment at ProDent

Planning your visit

A routine first appointment is usually for discussion, examination and planning. Your dentist may recommend professional cleaning before completing a more detailed treatment plan. Our first-visit guide explains the process.

Bring information about your medicines, allergies and medical conditions, along with recent dental records or X-rays if available. Let us know about anxiety or previous difficulties with treatment. If you need help communicating, discuss this with reception before your appointment.

If you have tooth pain, call +48 570 400 405 and explain your symptoms when booking. We will check appointment availability; urgent treatment depends on a clinical assessment.

How often should I have a check-up?

The timing depends on your teeth, gums, risk of dental disease and any ongoing treatment. These are starting points used at our clinic, not a fixed schedule for everyone. Your dentist will recommend an interval for you.

AppointmentPlanning your next visitWhat to keep in mind
Adult dental check-upOften around every six months at our clinic; adjusted to your needs.Contact us sooner if a problem develops, even if your next review is not due.
A child’s first dental visitWhen the first teeth appear, often around six to eight months. An early visit gives parents advice and helps the child become familiar with the clinic.
Follow-up visits for childrenOften every three to six months, depending on the dentist’s assessment. The interval may change with the child’s risk of decay and stage of dental development.
Assessment of a child’s biteThe dentist checks development and advises when an orthodontic assessment is appropriate.A review does not automatically mean that braces are needed.
Follow-up dental X-raysOnly when clinically indicated.Images are chosen after assessment, rather than taken on a fixed timetable for everyone.

Learn about our dental X-rays and CBCT. For general background on individual recall intervals, see NHS guidance on dental check-ups.

Common practical questions

Is there an extra charge for local anaesthetic?

Local anaesthetic is included in treatment at ProDent without a separate charge. The dentist chooses an appropriate method for the procedure and your medical history.

What if I am worried about pain?

Tell reception when arranging the visit, and discuss your concerns with the dentist. Local anaesthetic is used where appropriate to control pain. You may still notice pressure or movement; tell the dentist if you feel discomfort so they can respond. We also use computer-controlled local anaesthetic delivery.

Do you see children?

Yes. We provide care for children and teenagers. Let reception know the child’s age and whether this will be their first dental visit. The dentist can discuss daily care, tooth development and any treatment needed.

Can I arrange teeth whitening?

Start with an assessment. Your dentist will check the teeth and gums, discuss suitability and explain any preparation, such as professional cleaning. Whitening can cause temporary sensitivity and is not appropriate for every patient or every type of discolouration.

How do payment and insurance work?

ProDent is a private clinic and does not hold an NFZ contract. The English price list shows prices in US dollars (USD). If you have private insurance, ask your insurer about reimbursement and required documents before treatment. Do not assume that treatment here is covered automatically.

See the price list and payment information. Instalment plans are not currently available through our English-language service.

Where can I read about recovery after treatment?

Our dental questions and answers cover common concerns. For guidance after a procedure, see aftercare advice. Always follow the instructions given for your own treatment.
